A co-worker sent me this New York Magazine article
Pvt. Danny Chen, 1992-2011 which moved me to write this poem. Pvt. Chen was 19-years-old when he committed suicide after terrible hazing and racism. It is sad when lives are cut short, especially under such means.

I am working on an upcoming poetry project. It started off as a collection of love poems, but has now sort of taken a life of its own. I love what has come out of this project so far and I hope to get it down in the next few months. This will likely be my venture into self-publishing because it’ll be fun to try.
