A Poem for National Punctuation Day

Today is National Punctuation Day. So naturally I shared my favorite xkcd comic (pictured above) on Facebook.
But the share made me think of why an opening parenthesis can cause such unresolved tension. I mean it’s called an “opening parenthesis” after all. So from that I wrote the following:
Unresolved
by Charity C. TranSome relationships
(Maybe all relationships
Are like unresolved parentheses
We cannot close off with an end
Simply because they began
Happy National Punctuation Day – may it be punctuated by punctuation appreciation!
